ORACLE SQL DEVELOPER JAVA.EXE 64 BIT
The 64 bit version now has the following error trying to create a database connection
ORACLE SQL DEVELOPER JAVA.EXE 32 BIT
Managed to get both 64 bit and 32 bit started. The only difference I noticed: Task Manager showed the 64-bit copy of SQL Developer using more private memory than the 32-bit, as expected.
Then I launched the sqldeveloperW.exe from each one's bin directory, created a connection to the HR schema on an 11gXE DB for each, and happily switched between the two running worksheet queries and scrolling through data tabs. Updated SetJavaHome in C:\Dev64\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\nf to point to the JDK in (4). jdk-6u30-windows-圆4.exe installed fine into the C:\Program Files\Java directoryĥ. Updated SetJavaHome in C:\Dev32\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\nf to point to the JDK in (1).Ĥ. jdk-6u30-windows-i586.exe installed fine into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Java directoryĢ.
With so many complaints about 64-bit installation, I finally decided to get hold of a 64-bit machine and try out some installs to see for myself.ġ.
